The UN > UN GLOBAL PULSE

In the Spring of 2011, Francois Vaxelaire and I traveled for four weeks around Uganda's capital city, Kampala, and the northern city, Gulu. Our goal was to capture stories of technology and innovation by Ugandans and organizations working in Uganda.  Cutting-edge, real-time technology is the backbone upon which the UN Global Pulse is being built, using locally-sourced data and information to give a near real-time picture of conditions that may lead to crisis.  This enables local groups, governments and international humanitarian organizations to respond more appropriately and accurately to crises before it is too late.
